What does the Discman 4 sharpen?
The Discman 4 sharpens the side edges of skis and snowboards. It does not work on the base, base structure or base edge.
Is the Discman 4 suitable for beginners?
Yes. Its stable guide and electric drive make controlled, even sharpening easier. The adjustable edge angle also provides the precision that coaches, racers and ski service professionals expect.
Does it replace a full ski service?
No. The Discman 4 lets you maintain your own side edges. A full ski service may still involve work on the base, structure or base edge.
Which edge angles can I set?
The side edge angle can be set from 85° to 89°, so you can tailor your edges to your skiing style, ability and snow conditions.
Can I sharpen both skis and snowboards?
Yes. The Discman 4 is designed to maintain accessible steel side edges on skis and snowboards.
Which set is right for me?
The SoftCase is ideal if you already own a compatible Makita battery. The HardCase set comes in three versions. The complete service set adds more accessories for your home workshop.
Is a battery included?
It depends on the set. The Discman 4 uses the Makita 18 V battery system. Each product listing clearly states whether a battery and charger are included.
